Inspiring account of that crazy re-educating process that the Cultural Revolution in China forced on millions of people...it was a painful abomination, but luckily served to accelerate a slow but progressive change to the sort of democratic standards enjoyed nowadays....sensitive storytelling, beautiful sceneries, intriguing romantic triangle, but overall impressing cultural clash between the punished town boys and the locals, with great violin music ironing out the differences....interesting to watch with much to learn..8/10.
