Please, dont get me wrong. I loved the 'Harry Potter' movies. (All of them) However, although it would be fair to say that the four leading members earned a very nice fortune. As 'adults' they just do NOT cut it. Sorry, but this over-rated stardom of Emma Watson is getting really tiresome. Her accent sucks and her expressions in this movie are mono-boring; and well, she is too relient on her fame to put in the effort. Thats how it seems, anyhow. The movie itself, as a thriller - is a good sleeping draft. I can only give this 2/5. Very disappointed.

Overall disappointing and a lazy storyline. It could have been a good thriller but it fell flat like a turd.

It's not too often I shut off a Tom Hanks movie, but the stupidity of millennials is too much to handle and this movie portrays their screwed up way of thinking in a pretty accurate manner.

This is the longest commercial I've ever seen. A reminder of why I don't use a "smartphone."

kind of generic, and dumb....didn't they do this already in another movie..she really cannot act either...same constant facial expressions gets old quick..why do kids dig her so much...harry potter ruined a whole generation, along with pokemon.

The book itself was crap and I see the movie isn't any better.

Behavioural change campaigns using your data are the new rage for those who wish to manufacture consent. Being aware of this, The Circle was, for me, a horror movie. As a horror movie it is excellent. It even has an uncomfortable ending. As a sci-fi or thriller, for those who don't have nightmares about mass mind control, it will be bland.

the movie does give you something to think about but is far from a thriller. It felt too contrived.

If the director, producer and writer were given some incredible actors, a comfortable budget and a cool idea then why the f**k do we get this rubbish?? 2/10

i think this was very clever, and i also think a lot of people missed the point, its a bit like fight club, the point is missed until about a month after you watch the movie, and you suddenly go ,oh shit i just got it, the big names in this dont normally get dragged into B type movies,so just wait, and it will dawn on you what happens, eventually 8/10

A lot like an episode of Black Mirror. I love sci-fi in general, especially sci-fi like this, where it is closer to the present day. just makes it more "realistic." the message is a good one in that it is one where you can discuss ideas with the people/person you watched it with. its a commendable trait for a movie, especially in this day and age, where the usual "mainstream" movies are really meant to be consumed and then forgotten. i feel people are giving harsh criticisms for the acting in this movie, but to be honest, i think it's only because the lead actors are such huge movie stars. if they were lesser known actors i doubt anyone would really complain. let's be real, this movie was not made for "acting." it's really about story and asking questions like "what if..?" it's not a profound movie, but if u like stuff like black mirror, i think you will like it. Honestly a good movie IMO. actually, this is the third movie in a row i've watched on this site with very low ratings from Metacritic/rotten tomatoes and i must say i will no longer use these ratings as a way to filter the movies i watch. If you are curious, just watch it and make your own decision about it. I did and i was pleasantly surprised! a very good one time watch!

I think this is just a glimpse of what the NWO has in mind for eveyone that is not in their elite group of Illuminati's. Population control, the mark of the beast, they want and are turning u all into sheep to control us. It's already started with our smart tv's, cell phones, computer camera's, social media, financial institutes, news media, what we eat, drink, read, etc, etc. The Illuminati loves to throw factual realities into our faces through books and movies and we laugh and take it as fiction. The book which this movie was based on which I plan to read would be so much better in my opinion bc it would be able to go into so much more detail and depth. I found this movie interesting, not great, given the short time span allowed. All the actors incl Tom Hanks are just doing their job, spreading their word of what's to come. 7/10

This movie seemed pretty clumsy in execution, but there is some relevant ideas here. For example, social networks can be used to induce, for lack of better words, "cyber mobs" to harass people with contrary points of view. It already happens. Just take the situation where a youtuber has a modest but passionate following, say 50,000 subscribers, and somebody posts criticism, not even trolling, of the channel's content. 10 of those 50,000 could easily be obsessive enough to "dox" the person who posted the criticism. Then, the mob starts sending him or her tweets, e-mails, etc. The mob thinks they are totally justified in calling out the "troll." The "troll" may be someone with legitimate criticism. Or just had a bad day when they posted... Or was just some ill-mannered kid. I would like to see a better version of this kind of story on film.

The first Tom Hanks movie I didn't like, it sets up a story that they finger banged the ending with Edward Scissor Hands fingers. Scary thought tho, who wants to be 100% transparent like that, I would rather live off grid and in a bunker than live having millions or billions knowing what im doing every min of the day. Again the story amounted to nothing and the characters were not memorable. If an activist blew up the place in the end it would have made the movie better. :) 2/10 I hope this isn't Tom Hanks end to awesome movies.

Privacy was a temporary thing... more a message film than thought-provoking but things like age will make a difference in how viewers take in this story. Notably bad acting from her childhood friend. IDK, I think as many may like this as will dislike it. 5/10

I understand why some people didn't like it, but I think this is a good movie. True, it's mostly drama, and if you were expecting traditional sci-fi, you might be disappointed. However, I think the movie presents a really good fictional take on the ethics of technology and human rights; and the conflict between technology and privacy. Social media is getting more and more widely used, and indeed, more and more invasive (in my opinion). Where would it all lead to? This movie shows where we might unfortunately be headed if we don't give ethics serious consideration. Emma Watson acted satisfactorily, although I'm starting to agree that there is no diversity in the way she acts in each movie (except for Perks of Being a Wallflower). I'm not a fan of the soundtrack either. Apart from that, a good watch! 3.5 stars

The story is trite and oversimplified. Companies like this operate to make a profit and unless there is some way to monetize forcing everyone in the US to register for a social account using their real name and info it would be highly unlikely that it would happen. Plus, the NSA has been doing this exact thing since the 1990s. You just don't know about it. Every text. Every email. Every phone conversation. Every photo posted. Every credit card and PayPal purchase. On and on... it's all stored somewhere.
