Far fetched vegan movie that is anything but kid friendly with the F word used 25+ times (even spelling it out once). The person here that said he showed it to his students without even previewing it makes me weep for humanity. What kind of teacher does that? The animal is given almost human intelligence at times with a especially docile disposition (even super animal abilities to survive a fall) and of course is vegetarian though no person that has ever actually been around swine knows that is true. You don't find rats getting near pigs for a reason. The animal expert they use couldn't be any gayer if he was Rupaul. The face they put on the evil CEO meat developers could of been the lady MC at the Hunger Games. Some here will cry out that this is just a movie, they must have a special ability to disengage their brains I imagine. You will find the same people on other films claiming how it is a thinking person's film when it agrees with their views. Want to see a more realistic film about a pig, watch the English comedy movie Private Function to see just how trying to restrict humans from meat eating makes them behave. No Eco-terrorists would stand a chance going between a politician and his bacon. I like some Korean films, but this one is pure propaganda BS.

It's very rare that I'm speechless after a movie. But this is an epic master class in film making and story telling. Although the storyline is rather simple, and the characters somewhat superficial, this movie grabbed me with its magic realism and cinematography from the very beginning, and didn't let go till the final credits, including the after credits scene. Bong Joon Ho has outdone himself. An absolute must watch. 10/10.

Great film. lots of symbolism, not a tearjerker but at the end of the slaughter house scene they were a flowin. Looked like Auschwitz, I guess that was the point.

That was brilliant. I knew it was going to make me cry my eyes out and feel very guilty before I hit play but I'm glad that I did it anyway. Bong Joon Ho has made three of my favourite films in recent years.I hope he continues to make great stuff like this. . .

Cool movie! Showed this to my students today (without seeing it myself first) haha thought it had a good message for them. Though it´s more like an grownup film that can be watched together with kids.than just for kids. god for a lot of discutions on how we treat animals and were food comes from.

Not just a gem, it's a diamond. Beautiful artistry on every level. Best family film of the year by far. Defo 5 bags of popcorn and 2 sodas.

I get theres a great cast but I'm just excited for Bong Joon Ho. He's been a sensational director throughout the past few decades. The Koreans have been towering over their Hollywood counterparts in terms of scale, action, thriller and filmmaking in general. Not the greatest Bong Joon Ho film, but i'll probably watch this a few times.

Nice satire about the animal industry but I'm too poor to become vegan

I'm glad I read Aristarchus review of this movie. I was hesitant because of the title of the movie but, it turned out to be a great movie. Yes, the language was a bit dark but, the CGI was absolutely great. The animal and the other animals looked so realistic; I almost believed they were real. Bong Joon Ho is a master at the arts. Great story line and yes, I would watch it again. I wouldn't be surprised that the government actually has animals like this in secret. Some very funny moments in this film too. Watch it and make your own choices.

Not a bad flick but it seems the main plot was lifted off of the Thai Movie with Tony Jaa called The Protector.

Some will like, more for kids that know the F word already. Some of the links DO have subs.

I really enjoyed this. Great acting and story. I do agree with those that said they could have left out the F bombs for a more kid friendly movie, but then again who said it WAS a kid movie? Very unique and thought provoking. Always a good thing. Nice to see an original movie with all the 'fluff' movies and unoriginal remakes coming out these days!

This delightfully original fairy tale was a joy to watch from start to finish. It's funny, it's sad; there are happy moments, and deep emotional ones. Great performances by known and unknown actors alike. Just a great movie through and through.

Not that it has anything to do with the movie but one cow eats forty pounds of food and drinks a bathtub full of water a day in addition to being the main source of methane production. A cow does on average release between 70 and 120 kg of Methane per year. Methane is a greenhouse gas like carbon dioxide (CO2). But the negative effect on the climate of Methane is 23 times higher than the effect of CO2. Therefore the release of about 100 kg Methane per year for each cow is equivalent to about 2'300 kg CO2 per year. World-wide, there are about 1.5 billion cows and bulls. All ruminants (animals which regurgitates food and re-chews it) on the world emit about two billion metric tons of CO2-equivalents per year. In addition, clearing of tropical forests and rain forests to get more grazing land and farm land is responsible for an extra 2.8 billion metric tons of CO2 emission per year! According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) agriculture is responsible for 18% of the total release of greenhouse gases world-wide (this is more than the whole transportation sector). Cattle-breeding is taking a major factor for these greenhouse gas emissions according to FAO. Says Henning Steinfeld, Chief of FAO's Livestock Information and Policy Branch and senior author of the report: "Livestock are one of the most significant contributors to today's most serious environmental problems. Urgent action is required to remedy the situation." Livestock now use 30 percent of the earth's entire land surface, mostly permanent pasture but also including 33 percent of the global arable land used to producing feed for livestock, the report notes. As forests are cleared to create new pastures, it is a major driver of deforestation, especially in Latin America where, for example, some 70 percent of former forests in the Amazon have been turned over to grazing. The following tables indicates the CO2 production in kg CO2 equivalents per kg of meat depending on the animal: 1 kg of meat from produces kg CO2e beef 34.6 lamb 17.4 pork 6.35 chicken 4.57 This is actual substantiated information, not false opinion. Toodles.
